Intern Data Engineer – Azure at Xponent AI will be working with our data engineering team to enable building of data pipelines, transformation, loading and analysis. You will be assisting the high performing data engineering team for leveraging Azure Databricks to provide cutting-edge data engineering solutions. The ideal candidate possesses interest in data engineering and will get hands-on experience with Azure services, especially Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lakes, Azure Data Factory and so forth.
You will also document this high value work and project for your academic deliverables as required, get them reviewed and submitted as part of internship outcome.
About Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the design, development and management of large-scale processing systems and other infrastructure using Azure Databricks.
- Working with the high performing data engineering team to develop batch & streaming solutions, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Help design, optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes with Azure Databricks.
- Assisting in design and implementation of efficient data processing pipelines on Azure Databricks platform.
- Develop, optimize SQL queries for ETL routines in Azure Databricks.
- Participate in translating complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and high-performing software.
- Acquire knowledge towards technical expertise in the Azure data domain enabling certification of Azure data engineering.
About You
- Have an excellent, consistent academic record.
- Possess fundamental knowledge on database, data modelling and cloud services.
- Must have quick learning abilities and interest to learn Azure data services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Coding knowledge in SQL, Python, and other data engineering languages will be added advantage.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results oriented.
